M. studied at the Hamburg Hochschule für Bildende Künste under F. E. Walther. By intercession of Daniel Richter he realised his first exhibitions, the Berlin biennale 1998 was his breakthrough. Since then he showcases his sculptures and perfomances all over the world, among others at the Centre Pompidou, in the Städel Museum Frankfurt and in the Hamburg Deichtorhallen. The artist lives and works in Ahrensburg and Berlin.
