Kallmorgen, on the reverse of the frame artist's estate label with no. 342 and title 'Erntebetrieb' as well as label of gallery Gerstenberger Chemnitz with no. 5996, min. rest. - Painter and graphic artist in the tradition of the school of Barbizon who had a preference for motifs from the Hamburg Harbour. K. studied at the Düsseldorf and Karlsruhe Academies under G. Schönleber. He became professor in Berlin, thereafter in Karlsruhe. K. won numerous awards, since 1910 he was director of the Große Berliner Kunstausstellung.
