Designed 1908, made 1980s by Classicon, Munich. Nickel-plated metal, glass. Central shaft on a round cambered foot. Two swivelling arms with conical shades of opaline glass. H. 57 cm, w. 80 cm. - Literature: Charlotte and Peter Fiell, 1000 Lights 1878-1959, vol.1, Cologne 2005, p. 123. - German landscape painter and designer, studied at the Munich academy, among others under H. von Bartels, since 1894 he exhibited with the Munich secession a. at the Munich Glaspalast. In 1897 he founded the Vereinigten Werkstätten für Kunst u. Handwerk in Munich, in 1909 he moved to Berlin where he became co-head of the studio of Bruno Paul. Lit.: Thieme-Becker.
