He joined the Hamburgische Künstlerclub in 1903. Since 1907 he studied again, this time at the Académie Julian in Paris. He travelled England, the island of Pellworm a. Kaernten in Austria. He mainly created landscapes a. views of the river Elbe, but also portraits a. family portraits.
