Oil/paper/wood, 24 x 34 cm, lo. le. sign. J. Willroider. - Austrian-German landscape painter. After beeing taught painting by L. Canziani in Villach he studied at the Munich academy since 1860. In 1866 he moved to Düsseldorf a. joined the artist's group 'Malkasten'. In 1889 he returned to Munich where he shared a studio with his brother Ludwig a. established as a leading landscape painter of his time.
