Watercolour, 30 x 34,5 cm, lo. le. sign. a. inscrib. Opiz inv. & del., framed under glass, uninspected out of frame. - German painter, draughtsman a. graphic artist. O. was taught painting in the studio of Casanova in Dresden. He started as portrait painter, before since 1801 in Vienna he began to paint the scenes from urban life that were to become typical for him. After working in Paris, Heidelberg a. Altenburg he settled in Leipzig in 1820.
