Meissen, around 1740. Fire-gilded French bronze mount. The rectangular 'porte-lettres' with scalloped rims, on four volute-shaped feet, the back side with leather cover. Rich decoration with rocaille-relief and latticework. Frontal and lateral decoration with porcelain painting in a turquoise ground: Kauffahrtei scenes, on the side a bouquet of flowers in purple monochrome. In front of lattice-worked alcoves three miniature figures: two cavaliers and a lady, with cocked hat respectively with hand-muff. 21 x 26 x 14 cm.
