Meissen, end 19th cent. Design probably by Johann Joachim Kaendler from around 1745. 3-armed naturalistic candelabra with polychrome painting and plastical decoration (min. chips) on a richly curved rocaille base. At the front a depiction of Diogenes with lantern, verso his empty vessel. The other with the figure of a seated Alchemist holding a large bag of gold coins, verso his tall laboratory oven. Crossed swords mark with pommel, incised '945' or '986'. H. each 29,5 cm.
