Nancy, 1920ies. Pâte-de-verre, moulded in form of a blossom. Signed 'Awalter Nancy' and 'sc' on the base. H. 15 cm, diam. 18 cm. - French ceramic and glass artist, studied at the Ecole Nationale de la Manufacture de Sèvres, in 1902 he starts with the production of the so-called pâte-de-verre, which he was represented at the Paris Salon in 1903. Between 1908 and 1914 he was employed at Daum Frères in Nancy, where he performed glass sculptures after models by Henri Bergé, in 1919 Walter founded his own workshop for pâte-de-verre. - Lit.: Ausst.-Kat.
