China, 19th cent. (Qing-Dynasty 1644-1911). Bronze with dark patina, partly polished. Censer in the shape of a richly ornated elephant, on his back as a cover a pagoda crowned by a dragon (min. cracked). Overall decorative relief in the shape of mythical creatures and borders. Six-character Xuande-mark. Some movable decoration-elements missing. H. 33,5 cm.
