Schou in Copenhagen, co-founder of the Hamburgischer Künstlerclub, friends with E. Barlach, teacher at the Hamburg school of applied arts, since 1926 professor at the Hamburg Landeskunstschule, the majority of the Hamburg plein-air painters was trained by Wohlers, less than 200 of his works survived WW II. - Mus.: Hamburg (Kunsthalle, Altonaer Museum), Schleswig (SHLM), Güstrow. - Lit.: Thieme-Becker, Rump, Der Neue Rump, Heydorn, Beck, Meyer-Tönnesmann a. others.
