Oil/canvas, 43 x 60 cm, rest., relined. With expertise by Prof. J. Müller Hofstede who confirms the authenticity of the painting. In his opinion it is an early work by van Bloemem when the painter was inspired by the landscapes of Gaspard Dughet in Rome. See a very similar composition in the Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest (Bernt, vol.1, no.125, ill.). Mus.: Berlin, Dresden, Cologne, Lyon, Budapest et.al., Lit.: v. Puyvelde 'J.F.v.B.' (in: La peinture flamande à Rome, 1950), Bernt (1969), Thieme-Becker, Bénézit et.al.
